This novel process is intended for use in treating gases containing less than about 1000 ppm of SOx, or generally in situations where caustic scrubbing is economical. Both SOx and NOx are removed to less than 10 ppm in the treated gas. The process uses a proprietary aqueous regenerable solvent and a high efficiency absorber column for achieving high NOx removal.
